CEMVO has supported over 200 Black and Minority Ethnic groups over the last ten years and is now launching a drive towards the development of Black and Minority Ethnic groups as sustainable social enterprises which will support and empower their communities. Stephen Williams MP is a keen supporter of social enterprise, having been a director of the Watershed arts centre for fourteen years and recently presented the Social Enterprise Mark award to Bristol Wood Recycling Project.
Speaking in his capacity as the Shadow Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills , Stephen Williams MP said, "I am delighted with the vibrancy of the Black and Minority Ethnic community in Bristol, however we still need to take steps to improve issues surrounding discrimination at work and representation on bodies such as Bristol City Council.".
