First recently revealed that passengers who do not have the exact change required will no longer be able to use a 'change voucher' as a way of paying for a journey. Instead, anybody owed money by the company will only be able to obtain a refund from a shop in the city centre.
"What Bristol really needs is a smart card system, similar to London's Oyster card, which would allow passengers to prepay for their travel without needing to carry cash. This would remove the need for change vouchers altogether, and allow more seamless integration between different services."
"Until then, it is entirely unreasonable for First to expect people to travel to the city centre to collect their change."
