The event was supported by the council who provided free paint and equipment. Over 20 volunteers worked in the hot summer sun to give the lane a clean and fresh new look. Also helping were Cllrs Jon Rogers and Shirley Marshall (Ashley ward) and Bev Knott (Bishopston ward), as well as the local probation service who brought along a number of helpers as part of the Community Payback scheme. The local beat bobby was also in attendance on her day off.
Stephen Williams said "It was very satisfying to see how such a large improvement could be made for local residents in just a few short hours."
