Stop Climate Chaos is a recently launched coalition of campaign groups including Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and the WWF which aims to persuade governments and individuals to take real action to avoid catastrophic climate change.
Today activists from participating groups came to Westminster to do rounds of 'Speed Dates' with MPs to exchange views on climate change and to decide who their ideal 'Carbon Date' was.
Stephen Williams said "It was an interesting and rewarding experience. Hopefully Stop Climate Chaos will provide a useful focus on this issue in the same way as Make Poverty History did last year. We were agreed that this issue will require action by both governments and individuals and we need to act soon and use a variety of new technology and new behaviour to make it happen.
"Bristol leads the way in the development of wind power technology, but unfortunately they sell most of their services abroad. I am very glad that at least Bristol Port Authority and Bristol City Council plan to showcase wind turbines in Avonmouth, where they can make use of the wind that funnels up the Severn Estuary.
"We also discussed ways for all of us to reduce our environmental footprint. For example by having holidays in the UK rather than flying across the world."
Stephen spoke to three groups of activists for 10 minutes each, who will all now vote on which MPs they found most receptive to their ideas.
